On the 29th October our team flew out to Parliament to perform a demonstration of the Music Video Marketplace product in front of many acclaimed investors and constituents. The event took place within the Churchill Room , in the Houses of Parliament which was the highest honour to be invited to such an opportunity.
The event was hosted by BPI (British Phonographic Institution) and Abbey Road Studios by Leon Nevillie , Sophie Turner and Amalie Briden, such respected figures within the UK music tech industry. The event saw all the members of the GROW Music programme showing off both their products and ideas of innovation , but also their pitching and networking skills projecting both a level of professionalism and approachability.
There were various other businesses demoing their products such as Beatblox and Newform , these demos could range from a physical product to more of a service industry innovation such as what we are trying to achieve so the variety of what was in the room was never dull.
Kareem Fanous , the leader of Abbey Road Red, the subdivision studio investing in innovation within the music tech sector made an appearance and stated “there’s not enough support in the music technology industry and we plan to do this”. This is a massively reassuring sentiment as it shows that the country is striving to support our ecosystem.
The absolute grandeur of location , the gorgeous architecture and rich history of a building really presented a level of honour and respect towards being able to contribute to this country’s thriving music tech economy and is something that MVM will not take for granted.
