Absolute scenes in NI this month as we had a surprise landing of well renowned musician Ed Sheeran , on 10th of January 2025 Hotbox Entertainment Studios hosted a jam session and asked MVM to record the promo ambience material , this evening involved musicians sharing their sound and networking in a more cinematic nature.
Music Video Marketplace were asked to come along to the evening that featured such artists as Sam Hunter, Wee Joe ,Home grownraps amongst many others sharing their sound in a collaborative cypher music track that combined their sound and experiences.
HBE was founded by James Ayo based within the Shankill area of Belfast city and was made with the sole purpose of supporting aspiring Belfast artists who don’t have the resources to create and explore their artistry , throughout the last few months his studio has been making explorative tracks displaying both the commitment and experiences of Belfast born artists which caught the attention of a ‘Mystery Artist’.
This mystery artist turned out to be non other than Ed Sheeran who’s well renowed for his afffinity for exploring artistry and sound in all areas of the UK so Belfast was the obvious choice to visit. This collaboration is so important as is displayed to Ed and his fanbase that even though they are underfunded the greater Belfast area contains some massively passionate musicians with experiences and stories to share.
Ed ended his visit by having a summary interview of his experience hosted at the OH Yeah music centre in Catherdral Quarter alongside Lead Singer of Snow Patrol Gary Lightbody , Sheeran could not contain his excitement and shared a level of nostalgia quoting “it took me back to being 18 and being in grime cyphers and just being in the excitment of it” , this collaboration has surely opened some doors for these artists and shown them that even reaching these levels of stardom one still does it because they love the process and the passion behind the music.
